This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Halifax Regional Water Commission (“Halifax Water”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for JDK WSP -Filter 8 Underdrain Replacement, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”) and associated project documents (refer to Appendix H and Appendix I). 

The J.D. Kline Water Supply Plant provides water to mainland and peninsular Halifax. The plant employs a direct filtration treatment process to remove pathogens, turbidity, metals, and organic matter from the raw water from Pockwock Lake. The project generally involves the removal and off-site disposal of the existing underdrain system; concrete surface preparation; and installation of the owner supplied new underdrain system, installation of the existing media; inspection, testing, and commissioning of a new underdrain and media filtration system in Filter No. 8; and all Work as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. All work should be carried out in accordance with requirements provided in Appendix H and Appendix I.
